ArcMap Standard Palette

These are the standard colors used in ArcMap, along with their RGB and HTML color codes. Note that some of the darker colors are hard to read — I did not want to make the text white because it tends to distort the colors. To read the darker values, simply highlight the text with your cursor.

Tips:

If you are planning to use these colors for hardcopy map production, print this page as a reference — some of these colors look very different when they are printed.
If the text in the color boxes is difficult to read on screen in Windows, try turning on font smoothing: Control Panel>Display>Effects (or Plus)>Smooth edges of screen fonts
To specify a color using RGB values in ArcPlot, use RGB Rval Gval Bval in place of an ArcInfo symbol number. For example: polygons RGB 50 50 50. For more information, see "RGB color specification" in the ArcPlot help file.
